I saw this article on BBC News yesterday and just have to share it with y’all: “Will your pet need a coronavirus vaccine?” (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-56602311)
I do not believe that I’ll vaccinate my cats if a vaccine becomes available. Of course, this decision might change if any variants evolve to the point of being a safety risk for me to work in multiple kitty households. I always weigh risks and benefits when vaccinating my cats. Part of my decision is whether there is potential of me transmitting something dangerous from my cats to my kitty clients. I don’t want to take any risks with anybody’s health.
FWIW, I received my first vaccine on 3/26/21 and should receive my second around 4/23/31. Woohoo! This info has been (and will continue to be) updated on my other coronovirus posts: “My Services During The Pandemic” and “Safety First (Covid-19 & Companion Animals)“.
